Sarah (pronouns: she/her) is a writer-by-day (and sometimes late at night), mom-non-stop, and is also a professor of writing, education, and literacy while her kids are in school. Her latest writing project is a succession of query letters in the attempt to find a literary agent. Her latest educational endeavor is earning an EdD by the time she reaches 50. Having difficulty making up her mind, Sarah earned a BFA in Technical Theatre from UConn, MS in Historic Preservation from UPenn, Teaching Certification and MA in Creative Writing from WCUPA. When she is not writing, Sarah loves reading (shocking, isn't it), hiking, baking, painting, home improvement, playing games (Scrabble!), watching movies, making the world a better place, and spending time with family. Luckily, Sarah's husband and kids share pretty much all her joys so that last one is easy. Sarah's goal is to bring kindness and compassion to the world, to eliminate hate and replace it with love.
Messing with all of that lately, Sarah has been diagnosed with chronic costochondritis, inflammation of the connective tissue in the rib cage. In really simple terms - chronic pain. This is interfering with all sorts of activities that Sarah loves, but not preventing her from writing, teaching, earning her next degree, and spending time with family. (Hiking, home improvement, and much of the baking and painting are not feasible for now.)
Sarah and her son Elliot publish picture books together for fun. Sarah writes the story (with a little Elliot-input) and Elliot illustrates (with a little Sarah-guidance). You can find a list of their books, with the cover illustrations, on the Publications page.
